I received the parcel you sent today- very big thanks to you and all the members of the 2 classes at ECC!
I have the paper cranes hanging up in my room in my parents' house. The message cards and extra messages from everyone were really nice to read, and it makes me happy to know you were thinking of me. So please do pass on my thanks to all who wrote messages/ made presents. It is all appreciated very much. But please tell Chizuko that in her very nice extra message she made a few grammar errors- so keep studying and learning!! Of course a super big thank you to you for getting all the stuff together and sending to me- thank you! (the stamps you put on the parcel are also great)
As for me, I'm now in the 5th week of chemo and radiotherapy. My hair is falling out a bit, but I'm not bald…yet! I sometimes feel a bit nauseous, but apart from 1 day when I was very sick (terrible day!) I actually don't feel too bad. The area where I had the operation is still tender and I can feel 'something' in that part of my head because of the scar and because the radiotherapy is directed there as well. After this course of treatment is finished I will have more MRI scans to see how successful it has been, and after that I'll find out if any further treatment is needed at this time, and if so, what. So… while trying to recover, I am also watching the rugby world cup! Japan have been playing so well, everyone has been supporting them since the shock win over S.Africa. I watched that game and it was really, really exciting. I was really cheering for Japan, and so happy when they won! Of course, I had to support Scotland against them in the next game… sorry!!!
I hope things are going well for everyone in both ECC classes, and you are all grabbing the opportunity to speak in English during class!!!
All the best to you and all the students,
